| The
concept behind this recording is a continuation of previous solo and EL
TERCETO records: to go into the studio to play and record live versions
of pieces. As always, a fundamental part of the project is the great sound
engineer MARIO BREUER, who has participated in all of Hernán Ríos’
productions. The material for this album was recorded in Estudios ION on August 30 and 31, 2007. There are 25 tunes, in which improvisation is explored within the context of Argentine and Latin American rhythms. The music from these sessions was all recorded live (solo piano and other instrumental formations with piano, percussion, drum set and voices), although here there is an openness to overdubbing “in real time” piano duets and piano-drumset duets on some pieces. The
entire recording session was filmed with five cameras, directed by RODRIGO
MEROLLA to later release a DVD with the complete versions of
these tunes. The DVD will show the recording session as if it were an
in-studio concert. |
