EL TERCETO was created in 1993, they embark from a point of freedom in an improvisatory musical language based in a repertoire of popular and folkloric music, experimenting with various Argentine and Latin American rhythms. Owners of a unique and original concept, they are a landmark in Argentine music. They have managed to create their own sound, which is difficult to classify: jazz, tango, and folkloric music all live together in a unique musical combination. It was originally a piano- bass- drums and voices acoustic jazz trio and actually they added the marimba and percussion. This work can be heard in their wide discography. EL TERCETO was created in early 1993 by HERNAN RIOS, at that moment with Pablo Tozzi (double bass) and Gustavo Alvarez (drums). In January, 1995 NORBERTO MINICHILLO (drums and voice) entered the group, a magical meeting that would produce a musical friendship that would last nearly twelve years. In 2001, Pablo Tozzi left the group, and was replaced by Norberto Córdoba. In 2002, the group definitively became a duo, and in the last two years Hernán Hayet (bass, percussion, and voice) entered the group as a “permanent guest musician.” They have played in the most important places in Buenos Aires and the rest of Argentina, radio and TV shows and taken many international tours (Mexico, United States, Paraguay). Norberto Minichillo died in October of 2006.
